Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, a representative from Exquisite Nepal will pick you up from the airport and take you to the hotel.
In the afternoon, you may wish to take a rest.
In the evening, you will be served an authentic delicious Nepalese food. You will spend overnight in Kathmandu.
Fly to Lukla, Trek to Phakding
Altitude: 2800 Meter
Time: 35 min flight, Trekking 3-4 Hours
We will take an early morning flight to Lukla, a Sherpa village located at 2,800 meters above the sea level.
After an adventurous flight of about 35 minutes and breathtaking view of snow capped mountains and green hills, we will reach Tenzing-Hillary airport at Lukla after a dramatic landing.
This is the gateway of the great Khumbu region including Mount Everest.
From Lukla, we will commence our trek to Phakding.
Since it is the first day of the trek, we will be doing a light hike of few hours till we reach Phakding.
Phakding to Namche Bazaar
Altitude: 3500 Meter
Time: Trekking 5-6 Hours
Walking through luscious pine forest along the magnificent Dugdha Koshi river, we will pass by many suspension bridges including the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge.
Passing through breathtaking view of Mt. Thamserku, Benkar, Chumoa and Monjo; we arrive at the entrance to Sagarmatha (local name for “Everest”) national park.
We pass through Jorsale, the last village before reaching Namche Bazaar.
After an ascent of almost two hours, we finally reach at the junction, Chautara, from where get catch a glimpse of Mount Everest rising over the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge.
After a further hike of almost one and half hour, we finally reach Namche Bazaar; the gateway to Mount Everest and the most popular trading centre of this region.
We stay overnight in Namche Bazaar.
Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar
Altitude: 3500 Meter
Time: Whole Day
We spend whole day in Namche Bazaar.
It is important to keep moving to prepare ourselves for the next day trip. So we will spend today either doing some light hikes to Thame or have a walk to Khumjung, a very beautiful village in this region.
We will also visit the tourist centre near Sagarmatha national park to explore ancient Sherpa ascenders, their culture and flora and fauna of this region.
We will spend night at Namche Bazaar.
Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
Altitude: 3870 Meter
We will begin our trek after breakfast from Namche Bazaar.
Passing through up close view of Mount Thamserku, we will also enjoy magnificent view of mountains like Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam throughout our trek.
Accompanied by breathtaking sceneries, along with Himalayan Thar, wild musk deer and multicolor pheasants; our trek will be pretty smooth with few up and down hills.
After crossing bridge over the Dugdha Koshi river, we will reach Phunki Thenga where we will have our lunch.
After a slightly rough walk through the pine forests, we will reach Tengboche.
Tengboche has the largest monastery of that region, we will pay a visit the monastery on the same day and witness the ceremony practiced here.
We will stay overnight at Tengboche.
Tengboche to Dingboche
Altitude: 4530 Meter
Tengboche monastery looks spectacular during morning. We will capture some magnificent pictures of the monastery and the scenery here.
We will start our trek towards Pangboche village, passing through several small villages.
On the way, we will enjoy an up-close view of Mount Ama Dablam.
Treking north to Pheriche, we will have fairly moderate walk till we reach Imja valley.
We descend towards Lobuche river and begin our steepest climb for the day towards Dingboche.
Upon arrival at Dingboche, we will witness a beautiful array of fields enclosed by stone walls as protection from grazing animals and wind.
We will stay overnight at Dingboche
Acclimatization at Dingboche
Altitude: 4530 Meter
We will acclimatize today at Dingboche.
We will climb the ridge at the north behind the village from where we will witness spectacular view of Mount Lhotse, Mount Makalu and Mount Cho Yu.
As we head towards north west, we will witness a series of peaks towering above Khumbu Khola valley including Cholatse and Tobuche.
From the ridge, picturesque Imja Valley and fields and pastures of Dingboche valley will look marvellous.
We will spend overnight at Dingboche.
Dingboche to Duglha
Altitude: 4620 Meter
We will start our trek from Dingboche to Duglha.
Today’s trek is accompanied by panoramic view of mountains throughout our journey.
After reaching close to Dusa, a Yak’s herder’s place; we will continue to trek through Phulung Karpo. This was the camp site of first successful Everest expedition in 1953.
We will witness a splendid view of Chola lake above Phulung Karpo.
As we trek, Mount Pumori comes into view.
As the trail descends, Mount Pumori becomes out of sight. We ascend to Duglha, after crossing a small wooden bridge.
We can view Mount Nuptse’s tip along will several other peaks like Cholatse and Mount Thamserku.
We will spend night at Duglha.
Duglha to Lobuche
Altitude: 4940 Meter
From Duglha, we ascend through Yak pastures towards Khumbu glacier.
At the top of the ridge, a series of stones with prayer flags used as memorials to the mountaineers can be seen.
As we ascend towards the Khumbu glacier, we witness several other peaks like Pumori, Khumbutse, Lingtren and Mahalangur Himal.
As the trail crosses Khumbu Glacier, Mount Nuptse towers towards the right.
We are now in close vicinity of Mount Everest but it is not yet visible.
We will spend overnight at Lobuche.
Lobuche to Gorakshep to Everest Base Camp to Gorakshep
Altitude: 5550 Meter
From Lobuche, we start our trek towards Gorakshep.
On our way to Gorakshep, we will witness crest of north ridge of Mount Everest along with peaks like Mount Nuptse, Mount Khumbutse, Mount Pumori, Mount Mahalangur, Mount Lingtern etc.
After a small ascent, we will reach Thangma Riju from where a 360 degree of snowy mountains can be seen.
Climbing steeply up to the top passing through the torrent of Changri Glacier, we will catch a first glimpse of Kala Patthar beneath Mount Pumori.
When we reach Gorakshep, we will find ourselves surrounded by beautiful snow capped mountains including Mount Everest.
From Gorakshep, we trek towards Everest Base Camp passing through the Gorakshep lake.
We can capture spectacular view of Mountain Nuptse, Mount Khumbutse and Mount Pumori from Everest base camp but Mount Everest is not visible from here.
We will stay overnight at Gorakshep.
Gorakshep to Kala Patthar to Pheriche
Altitude: 5643 Meter
We will start our trek early in the morning in predawn darkness to catch the picturesque views from Kala Patthar.
We will witness the breathtaking view of early morning light which caresses the peak of Mount Everest.
As our trek advances, we will be able to view Mount Khumbutse, Lingtren and Mount Changtse.
When we ascent towards Kala Patthar, we can witness some spectacular views; so we will pause here occasionally to capture great snaps.
After several hours of trek, we will reach Kala Patthar.
From Kala Patthar, we will witness a panoramic view of Himalayan range.
We further descend to reach Pheriche where we spend overnight.
Pheriche to Kyangjuma
Altitude: 3620 Meter
We will start our trek by crossing Khumbu Khola.
We will follow Mount Everest trail down the extremely beautiful valley passing through the villages of Tsuro Wog, Orsho, Shomare and reach Pangboche at the base of Ama Dablam.
After crossing the suspension bridge over Imja Khola, we pass through Dingboche and reach Tengboche.
Enjoying very beautiful rhododendron bushes and fir trees, we steeply ascend towards Dugdha Koshi river.
After crossing the bridge over Dugdha Koshi river, we reach Kyangjuma after crossing Phunki Tenga, Tashinga and Sansa.
We will spend our night at Kyangjuma.
Kyangjuma to Monjo
Altitude: 2835 Meter
From Kyangjuma, we will start our trek towards Monjo.
We will proceed towards Namche Bazaar following a steep ascent and several bends.
We will look out for multicolor pheasants, snow leopards and mountain goats here.
Walking through a steep descend along Namche Hill, we will cross suspension bridge over Dugdha Koshi river.
We will exit the Sagarmatha National Park before entering Monjo.
We will spend overnight in Monjo.
Monjo to Lukla
Altitude: 2860 Meter
This is the last walk in the lower altitude in the Khumbu region.
Most of the trails are flat followed by some ascents and descends.
Passing through the rhododendron bush and pine trees, we walk through several Sherpa villages.
We cross over the suspension bridge in Dugdha Koshi river, followed by a final ascent from Cheplung to Lukla.
We will spend overnight at Lukla.
Lukla to Kathmandu
Altitude: 1400 Meter
We take an early flight from Lukla to Kathmandu.
We may rest for the whole day in the hotel in Kathmandu or may visit close by places for buying souvenirs.
The completion of this trip will be marked by a farewell dinner organized by Exquisite Nepal.
We will spend overnight in Kathmandu.
The mountain trekking trip comes to an end today.
A representative from Exquisite Nepal will escort you to the airport 3 hours before the scheduled flight.
The trip ends here but the beautiful memories will accompany you throughout your journey and then after.
